Key Position Details:

This supervisor will have direct oversight of business support staff located at our Courage Kenny Mercy, Golden Valley, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, and United Hospital clinics.  Additionally, they will support Allina Senior health remote business support staff and workflows.

Job Description:

Supervises business support areas in a single specialty or multi-specialty site. Organizes work site and work processes to optimize service and operational efficiencies.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and directs business operations.
    • Coordinates registration/scheduling.
    • Manages medical billing charge entry.
    • Maintains medical records.
    • Coordinates patient care coordination.
    • Directs patient service representatives.
    • Supports ongoing process improvement and problem resolutions.
    • Implements policies, and procedures.
  • Manage and develop staff and work teams.
    • Coordinates with recruitment in selecting and retaining qualified applicants.
    • Trains and orients new staff.
    • Manages the performance of staff, including; coaching, recognizing, and delivering annual performance reviews.
  • Address patient concerns.
    • Works with providers and staff to address patient and/or family member concerns.
    • Takes appropriate action to ensure resolution to concerns.
  • Participates in the budget process.
    • Develops and monitors the operations budget for area responsible.
    • Ensures financial and staffing target are met.
    • Uses critical thinking to offer suggestions and innovations that work towards continuous quality improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • For all other locations (other than New Ulm): Bachelor's degree preferred;
    Associates degree in business or health related field and 4 years of related experience required or 6 years of related experience and must commit to enroll in an Associate’s program within 6 months of hire and obtain an Associate’s degree within 4 years of hire. 2 years of leadership experience preferred
