The Tech & Digital Operations Manager role is responsible for providing operational support to the assigned leadership team in areas that span the technology needs and related business processes of the consulting practice.  In this capacity, the Operations Manager is accountable to ensure tools, processes, and systems exist and effectively support the delivery of quality services to the consulting practice. This role also supports leadership with leadership team meetings, and support the execution of strategic initiatives and operational activities.  This will include planning, coordination and execution of all aspects of assigned projects through the project life cycle, organizing project activities, managing timelines and escalating as necessary. This position will also support the creation, revision, and implementation of reports, operational processes and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Partner strategically with assigned leadership to support the execution of short- and long-term goals.
  • Provide direct support for time-sensitive and proprietary tasks for CS Tech & Digital Leadership team members as requested.
  • Work with leadership in addressing risk mitigation, process improvement, communication, and support needs affecting the operations and service delivery to the business.
  • Partner with leadership to develop leadership meeting objectives and agendas, document meeting outcomes, and follow up on related action items
  • Oversee ongoing support of practice management reports, staffing processes
  • Support leadership in the execution of strategic or tactical imperatives
  • Develop an understanding of tech & digital teams and develop relationships with supporting leadership.
  • Liaise with internal organizations (human resources, finance, marketing, sales) to develop, implement, and maintain efficient and effective support processes in support of leadership imperatives
  • Be a resource to enterprise functions (IT, finance, Digital Integration Group, etc…), establishing standards and processes, and to share best practices, promoting efficiency and standardization
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope and revise it as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Manage project objectives, schedule, resources, and deliverables.
  • Create and execute project plans
  • Manage program and project risks and issues.  Recognize and determine corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and scope.
  • Assist leadership and liaise with internal functions in support of operational activities
  • Liaise with Tech & Digital leaders to establish and regularly report out performance metrics
  • Facilitate intentional focus on communication to the business including regular communications, developing Sharepoint and Teams sites for effective sharing and collaboration

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology related  area or equivalent experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Strong technical acumen; ability to understand and communicate regarding technology concepts
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to prepare presentations including charts, graphics and tables, speaker notes & handouts, etc., required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, preferred

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO JOB

  • Applies technical/procedural requirements of the position based on knowledge and experience within the specialization
  • Effective organization and time management skills; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment as required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to process financial information for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Ability to supervise and review the results of projects or assignments
  • Ability to train, mentor, and provide guidance and feedback to other team members

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five years experience working with management-level individuals.
  • Minimum of five years experience working in a professional services firm; consulting preferred
  • Minimum of three to five years working in assigned area with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Previous experience in managing others in a team environment – direct or indirectly
  • Experience in navigating in a matrix reporting environment solving/resolving complex issues

  • Ability to work autonomously  and exhibit a professional demeanor to internal and external clients; proactively manages customer and vendor expectations
  • Required to effectively communicate across all levels; knows audience and adapts appropriately, effective facilitation/presentation skills and strong listening skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills; works well with a variety of work styles, able to handle difficult conversations with members of team and create “win-win” solutions for those involved
  • Shows motivation and initiative to learn and grow beyond project work and shares knowledge with team and applies past experiences and lessons learned to new  situations
  • Continually enhances and builds upon the knowledge base of the service in order to update and inform leadership as necessary
  • Ability to define a business requirements, present options and secure management buy-in on appropriate solutions
  • Ability to support and assist with change implementation

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Previous project or team management experience
  • PMP Certification
