The Claims Analyst II is responsible for assisting with the oversite of insurance claims and company risk management functions. This position manages the assessments of insurance claims including drafting of responses, and working with the management team to develop risk mitigation and present programs to mitigate the Company’s risk. This position will work closely with the risk management team, insurance adjusters, brokers, and internal stakeholders.  Attention to detail is a must, as is excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Manage Mill Creek incident and claim processes based on Risk department procedures and individual states requirements for First Notification of Loss (FNOL).

  • Reply to inquiries related to incidents submissions and processed claims, work on various claim projects, identifying issues, root causes and recommended solutions.

  • Create or update claim related policies, procedures and workflows.

  • Manage and maintain the monthly Risk Department Open Claims report, including updates from claim adjusters and attorneys’ status updates with next steps.

  • Assists Risk Managers with presentations; training materials and OSHA annual reports;

  • Coordinate with Mill Creek insurance consultants and JV partner insurance representatives to ensure proper placement and coordination of any project specific insurance claim.

  • Audit compliance with risk management practices including vendor exemptions and approvals.

  • Maintain knowledge of trends in construction insurance industry, including thorough working knowledge of insurance products, coverage and pricing.

  • Assist with internal communication related to all risk management initiatives.

  • Assist with certificate, surety bond management and insurance carrier communication(s).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related fields

  • 5 years’ experience in Insurance Claims, Risk Management, or related fields.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Experience with Origami RMIS software or other RMIS systems a plus.

  • Judicial, Workers Compensation, OSHA guidelines
