Job Description:

Position Summary: 

 

Working under the direction of the Associate Dean, the Fellow contributes to projects that strengthen academic quality, institutional effectiveness, and student success in alignment with The Colleges of Law’s mission, vision, and values. 

 

Position Duties: 

Data & Accreditation Support 

  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing academic and institutional data to support accreditation reports, program review, and student learning outcomes assessment. 

  • Contribute to the development of dashboards, reports, or presentations that inform strategic planning and continuous improvement. 

Legal & Policy Research 

  • Conduct research on evolving standards in legal education, including innovations in curriculum, assessment, and program delivery. 

  • Monitor and summarize best practices across peer institutions related to access, affordability, and student support. 

Writing and Communications 

  • Draft or co-author reports, newsletter pieces, or other publications that communicate progress on strategic initiatives or highlight data insights. 

  • Assist in editing and formatting institutional documents submitted to accrediting bodies or other stakeholders. 

 

Special Projects 

  • Undertake targeted assignments that support high-level institutional planning, including curriculum mapping, survey design, or program benchmarking. 

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on initiatives that enhance academic excellence. 

Professional Development 

  • Participate in workshops, training, or mentorship opportunities to deepen understanding of legal education, academic leadership, and accreditation. 

Other Duties as Assigned. 

Essential Knowledge and Skills 

  • Ability to connect day-to-day tasks to broader institutional goals while maintaining precision in execution. 

  • Comfort with reading and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data. 

  • Strong skills in legal and policy research, with the ability to produce high-quality written analysis for varied audiences. 

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and adapt to changing project scopes. 

  • Familiarity with research databases, data visualization tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and the Canvas Learning Management System. 

  • High level of reliability, discretion, and a commitment to upholding the values of The Colleges of Law. 

  • Enthusiasm for expanding access to legal education. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Current J.D. or master’s student at The Colleges of Law in good academic standing 

  • Preference given to students eligible for Federal Work Study
