Job Summary
The Director, Transportation will lead our logistics operations team within Medline. This role requires deep expertise in truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and parcel transportation to manage a $300M spend. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing operations, analyzing data, identifying trends in the business and industry, driving cost reduction initiatives, building and maintaining carrier relationships, negotiating terms and rates, improving quality and service metrics, and resolving operational issues that impact customer delivery experiences with third-party carriers.Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Establish Medline’s transportation strategy and ensure service and cost standards are achieved. Lead the expansion and integration of Medline’s TMS platform with internal and external partners. Assist in the procurement and execution of approximately $100M of freight expenditure. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Direct and manage the implementation of the TMS Load Control Center by developing an implementation schedule, identifying system implementation needs, and growing the organizational structure to meet the needs of the business. Help enable connectivity between carrier, dock and vendor data points to improve delivery performance. - Execute the purchasing strategy of $100M in domestic freight spend and ensure transportation requirements and service performance expectations are at optimal cost levels. Deliver tangible KPI’s that drive supply chain improvement and illustrates results. - Architect TMS data and KPI’s to drive carrier and vendor routing compliance programs. - Forge relationships with Carriers, 3PLs and internal Medline team members. Ensure costs, savings opportunities, and new business developments are understood by all stakeholders. - Support new business initiatives, system integrations, and other major change management impacting inbound supply chain. Leverage relationships and technology to increase efficiency and create savings across teams. - Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies. Education - Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Finance, or Business Administration Relevant Work Experience - 5 years of progressive experience managing transportation activities across all modes of transport - 2 years managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work Additional - Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office - Successful history of contract negotiation and continuous performance improvement - Working knowledge of TMS system and Industry requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - MBA - Omni-channel delivery strategy and experience a plus

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$132,600.00 - $199,160.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
