About the Role

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and operational management of the service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality support in line with Waythrough's values, contractual requirements and regulatory standards.

You will provide leadership to a dedicated team, creating a positive and inclusive working environment where colleagues feel supported to deliver outstanding services.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, commissioners, health professionals and partner organisations, you'll ensure the people we support receive compassionate, person-centred care that promotes independence, wellbeing and recovery.

You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, safeguarding, compliance and performance, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and service development.

Key Responsibilities

As Service Manager, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operational management of the service.

  • Manage, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary staff team.

  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred support.

  • Monitor service quality, performance and contractual outcomes.

  • Manage service budgets and resources effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

  • Analyse performance data and implement continuous service improvements.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with commissioners, healthcare professionals, partner agencies and other stakeholders.

  • Promote a culture of inclusion, recovery, dignity and respect.

  • Support recruitment, supervision, appraisal and ongoing development of staff.

  • Lead on quality assurance activities, audits and action planning.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience managing services within health, social care, mental health, supported housing or a related sector.

  • Proven leadership and people management experience.

  • Experience managing budgets, performance targets and quality standards.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance.

  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred services.

  • A relevant professional qualification in health, social care or a related discipline, or equivalent management experience.
