About This Role

As a Roof Lead, you will function as the lead on-site for the rooftop installation. Your job duties will be but are not limited to directing the solar install team while completing a solar installation from start to finish, training new crew members, ensuring safety standards are being met, and overseeing install clean up.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Lead the solar installation team to install the racking system and solar panels on residential roofs

  • Ensure a quality installation while following design specifications

  • Work closely with the Crew Lead to ensure the solar installation is completed in a timely and orderly manner

  • Provide leadership to the roof-top installation team

  • Maintain compliance with company guidelines and principles as well as governmental regulations

  • Training new Solar Installers to Lumio standards

  • Service the solar system as needed

  • Clean and prepare trucks at the end of the day

  • Occasional work in the warehouse organizing equipment

  • Maintain compliance with all PPE and safety regulations per OSHA and company standards

  • Perform other needed job tasks as requested by leadership

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years experience in residential solar installation

  • Ability to read and understand solar layout plans

  • Capability to work safely on a roof

  • Leads by example

  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 to 50 lbs

  • Common knowledge of NEC codes

  • This is a driving required position and you must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record for insurability

  • Minimum 25% travel required

  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 75 pounds

  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel, as required, for job-related functions

  • Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch repetitively during the shift 

  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like

  • Able to engage in repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

  • Comfortable working on the roof or in small, enclosed spaces

  • Operate machinery and/or power tools

  • Operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment when required

  • This position is designated as a “safety-sensitive” position. A safety-sensitive position includes tasks and duties that Lumio, in good faith, believes could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others.
