Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Transformation for Supply Chain & Operations, the Sr. Director, Network Transformation, DePuy Synthes is expected to lead the development and implementation of manufacturing network strategies and objectives across the business, driving continuous improvement in key processes and working cross-functionally to drive operational excellence, end-to-end process governance, and financial management.

The Sr. Director Network Transformation is a strategic leader with strong executive leadership and presence, with the ability to engage through all levels of leadership.  In addition, the leader must lead with clear vision and purpose, setting aggressive goals and roadmaps for the team to follow to meet this vision.  The leader will have a highly diverse and complex portfolio and must have the ability to manage across the portfolio and engage in tactical execution in the programs where required.  This leader must possess strong business and financial acumen to deliver on defined business outcomes.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the manufacturing network transformation organization, a team of portfolio and project leaders executing strategic network initiatives and product transfers across the business.
  • Leader of ‘Network EDGE’ Manufacturing Network Transformation program, a portfolio of strategic projects that have been approved by the Executive Committee that deliver capacity for growth, supply chain resilience, invest in core technologies and deliver efficiency and profitability.  Oversee multiple working teams and project leaders.  Provide strategic leadership managing vision and purpose which support organization, functional and program goals.  Accountable for project execution, financials and savings across all programs and focus areas.
  • Ensure effective Project Management for multiple key strategic workstreams – with appropriate process controls, metrics, and stakeholder updates.  Partner closely with Finance to ensure financial planning and tracking is in place for all programs.
  • Lead manufacturing network strategy development and portfolio management in collaboration with the Strategy & Transformation Office.
  • Lead the development of business cases for strategic projects based on business needs that deliver value to the organization within defined criteria for growth, savings, avoidance, inventory, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Responsible for managing capital investments to support growth, innovation and deliver capital efficiencies. 
  • Drive continuous cost improvement in Gross Profit and COGS aligned to Business Strategic Plan.
  • Sets the standard for timeliness, work ethic, and personal integrity.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Required

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, or supply chain disciplines
  • 15+ years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility managing large, multi-site, global organizations, with end-to-end supply chain experience.
  • Knowledge of global demands, including multi-cultural/multi-country locations, local labor law, healthcare regulatory requirements, tax law, and logistics.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with experience managing high value businesses or capital investment programs, with implications to P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
  • Understanding of the linkages in Supply Chain from demand planning through delivery to customer.
  • Successful track record in leading large, complex, global businesses or programs
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization and achieving results through leveraging internal and external partners.
  • Ability to create and communicate a compelling future vision, gaining support and alignment.
  • Experience in developing strategic plans that align with corporate goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain diverse supply chain talents, with a track record in building robust leadership pipelines.
  • Strong leadership skills in leading and developing high-performing senior end-to-end teams.
  • Direct knowledge of MedTech business
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40-50% domestically and internationally.

Preferred

  • Graduate degree/studies in science, business, engineering, finance or organizational management or equivalent experience.
  • Multi-country and multi-sector experience, with exposure to varied geographies and businesses.
  • Experience working with medical device regulations
  • Experience with Orthopaedics supply chain, in sourcing, manufacturing or distribution.
  • Lean manufacturing and six-sigma methodology experience preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$178,000.00 - $307,050.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
