The Opportunity

This role works for Abbott Structural heart. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

This role is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory integrity both in the warehouse and on consignment to achieve service level targets whilst ensuring the timely delivery of Abbott Structural Heart products to our customers.

This role provides support to the sales and marketing teams in inventory analysis, upkeep of optimal stock levels and inventory tracking to minimize write offs.

In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring order processing is carried out to meet customer target service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Stock ordering for Australia, stock validations, returned goods management, reporting and analysis, short dated goods management, expired, excess and obsolete management and reporting, stock write off management, stock adjustments, logical location management.

  • Provide resolution for all customer issues, build and maintain relationships with all customers, both internal and external. i.e. sales management, product management, territory management, customer service.

  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management as it relates to consignment inventory management.

  • Train all relevant stakeholders in the relevant processes, including training the staff on the correct use of systems on a regular basis.

  • Monitor and proactively manage stock and inventory levels, ensure accurate and timely completion of inventory reconciliations.

  • Maintain regular validations scheduling, processing and management for all territory managers according to the validations schedule.

  • In consultation with Sales/Marketing, co-ordinate all local stock requirements including regular orders, launches, obsolescence planning and special orders (e.g. recalls/quarantine product, stop shipment, PME, PPT).

  • Monitor and process all inventory control reconciliations (e.g. cycle counts, consignment validations etc.) visiting accounts where relevant to review/reconcile and optimize stock levels to their needs.

  • Take the lead role in managing the 3PL warehouse for SH products, taking responsibility for all warehouse related aspects to ensure stock is dispatched and received in a timely manner and adherence to relevant Quality policies.

  • Manage and maintain professional relationship with any 3rd party warehouse and/or freight/customs agent and manage the stock levels through this relationship.

  • Continuously improve inventory management systems to streamline procedures and reduce operating costs. Monthly reporting to management on key focus areas within inventory and warehousing.

  • Maintain relevant, accurate and accessible records of all activities.

  • Ensure orders are received, processed, filled and dispatched.

  • Resolve customer queries.

  • Actively participate in process reviews to promote continuous improvement of service levels.

  • Assist with systems testing, development and training as required.

  • You may be required to work outside of your ordinary hours of work to participate in essential training, team meetings, customer events or trade shows/conferences.  These events may take place on an evening and/or weekend.

  • Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimising accidental exposures to self, colleagues and/or the environment. 

  • Ensure any PPE provided by the Abbott is worn.

  • Report any accidents or incidents within 24 hours through Donesafe and notify your manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualification preferred.

  • 3+ years' experience in a Logistics role

  • Experience with managing 3PL and importation of goods

  • Previous experience with SAP a must

  • Power BI experience preferred

Desirable

  • Prior experience in the Healthcare/Medical Device industry would be highly regarded

Competencies and Attributes

  • Good verbal and written communication skills 

  • Proven team player

  • Computer literacy with MS Office programs preferred
