Job Summary:

Conceptualize and execute graphics and design themes for print, digital and web-based projects based on specifications provided by the project manager or the client. Working as part of a team or alone, evaluate and identify ways that graphic and artistic elements can help promote the institution or meet specified project needs as identified by the project lead or the client.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's and one (1) year of work experience in graphic design or multimedia work for print and digital projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of and experience with the principles and practices of graphic design, printing reproduction processes and techniques, graphic layout, including photographic requirements and procedure, and how graphics and multimedia incorporate with website design. Ability to create and produce print and digital graphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques and equipment. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite. 

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality, creative graphics, illustrations, themes and layouts for print, digital and web-based projects
  • Work with project managers and support personnel to develop creative concepts according to project and/or client needs
  • Create designs that are professionally executed and in keeping with established UMMC brand standards
  • Convert print and digital projects to the web using content management software
  • Assist other designers on projects, where requested

Requires occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional traveling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, occasional driving, occasional reaching, constant sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more).
