Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
Tactical focus: Works with a variety of internal and external stakeholder groups (e.g., investment group, sales, etc.) to evaluate, construct, and maintain portfolio structures, index and custom benchmark maintenance, calculate and deliver portfolio and manager level investment results, analytics and attribution.
Calculates and analyzes fund, account, manager, and composite investment results
Validates investment results and fund, account, index, composite, and benchmark information using internal and external systems
Researches, analyzes, and resolves discrepancies with internal operational teams
Prepares and validates attribution analysis
Accesses, assembles, manipulates, and interprets large data sets
Develops and provides analysis of portfolio results, including hypothetical/paper portfolio results
May design and develop forecasting tools and statistical models that directly support the investment and distribution decision-making processes
Creates a narrative out of data and supporting visualization in a way that can be communicated effectively with multiple stakeholders and is actionable
Manages low to moderate complexity departmental projects and process improvements using project management methods and technology
Manages diverse stakeholders, providing effective communication and gaining alignment
Performs additional responsibilities, as assigned
Domain Knowledge Focus: Applies knowledge of Capital System and technical skills to evaluate, construct, and maintain benchmarks and to calculate and provide investment results and analytics.
Consultative / Business Acumen Focus: Serves as a subject matter expert to formulate and provide investment results and quantitative analytics to internal and external stakeholders. Provides deep dive analysis and research upon request.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Self-driven (e.g., independently manage workload and achieve target outcomes; proactively overcomes obstacles to achieve target outcomes and customer satisfaction)
Strong business acumen to understand and anticipate business needs/requirements/questions, apply knowledge of investment markets (e.g., analysis of portfolio characteristics, CIPMs, people CFAs, etc.), and explain ‘the why’ behind the results they present
Strong experience with data analysis and visualization tools to achieve the right result/outcomes (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx). Leverage data and analytical skills and tools to support recommendations
Develops strong business relationships and trust with internal and external stakeholders through consistent, accurate, and reliable delivery of services
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a focus on being able to confidently stand behind analysis when presenting to the Investment Group and Distribution stakeholders
Experience with performing analysis using different systems and performance measurement and attribution concepts
Strong collaboration skills, working within and across teams and stakeholder groups to communicate investment results and resolve issues
Ability to consume, digest, and apply information quickly
Demonstrates and applies a working knowledge of Results Analysis’ policies and procedures
Demonstrates and applies intermediate knowledge of key performance measurement, risk, and attribution concepts
Demonstrates and applies an intermediate knowledge of Capital’s funds, mandates, investment process, and various functions
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills in areas of complexity
Demonstrates the ability to identify, assess, escalate, and resolve issues
Strong industry knowledge
Ability to work in ambiguous situations, create clarity, and drive towards effective outcomes
Strong project management skills; PMP or ScrumMaster a plus
Level 1 CFA certification completed or in progress preferred. Level 2 or 3 CFA certification or MBA a plus
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
