JR58380 Engineer - Firmware Development (SSD)

As a Firmware Development Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will build groundbreaking high-performance controller firmware for volatile and non-volatile memory systems. You will assist in the evaluation, creation, build, bench testing, debugging, and failure analyzes of firmware for new high-performance memory controllers and Solid State Drives (SSD) that will improve performance, while reducing power, latency and SoC (System on Chip) complexity for the target sectors. You can expect to partner multi-disciplinary Engineers seek multi-functional product development issues. You will triage failures, file bug reports, and help the development teams with isolating issues.

Experience / Skills:
  • Worked as a software or firmware developer for 1-2 years.
  • Skilled in using scripting languages (e.g. Python), programming tools and environments.
  • Embedded Software Development: Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for memory controllers and SSDs.
  • Proficient in C Programming: Strong coding skills in C are required for firmware development.
  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work in a multi-functional team and handle multiple priorities.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot and debug embedded systems.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work effectively in cross-functional teams to address product development challenges.
  • Storage Industry Knowledge: Understand the storage industry, especially SSDs, HDDs, and related technologies, will be beneficial.
  • Storage Interface: Understanding of storage interfaces, such as PCIe/NVMe, is desirable.
  • Experienced with NAND flash and other non-volatile storage is a distinct advantage.
