Hourly Pay Range:
$35.16 - $54.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Job Summary:
The Strategic Energy and Sustainability Program Manager will be responsible for leading and executing high-impact initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and drive cost savings across the Endeavor System. This role will be instrumental in advancing the organization's sustainability strategy by embedding environmental best practices into business operations, engaging cross-functional teams, and ensuring measurable outcomes.
The Program Manager will also lead System-wide utility management—including electricity, natural gas, and water—with a focus on reliability, billing accuracy, and consumption reduction initiatives. The role will support utility budgets exceeding $35M annually and track performance against defined energy intensity and emissions reduction targets. In partnership with Finance, Supply Chain and Facilities Management, the Program Manager will also support the development and execution of energy hedge purchasing strategies to reduce exposure to market volatility and enhance fiscal predictability.
What you will do:
- Strategic Program Development and Execution
• Design, implement, and manage sustainability programs aimed at increasing resource efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, minimizing waste, and conserving energy and water.
• Align sustainability initiatives with business goals to ensure environmental and financial benefits.
• Lead cross-departmental projects to identify opportunities for cost savings through sustainable practices and process improvements.
• Facilitate meetings for SEM working groups, including hedge strategy, goals, reporting and Green Team committee. - Data Analysis and Reporting
• Develop and maintain dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental, economic, and operational metrics.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and lifecycle assessments to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare, review, and distribute key energy use metrics and variances to support annual budgets.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, executives, and external partners to demonstrate progress and ROI. - Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
• Collaborate with Facilities Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and other operational teams to integrate sustainability criteria and reduce the environmental impact of operations.
• Serve as the internal expert on sustainable business practices, keeping the organization informed of emerging trends, regulatory changes, and industry standards.
• Support supplier engagement initiatives to improve environmental performance across the value chain.
• Act as key liaison for Energy Hedge subcommittee to include: coordination of hedge strategy consensus, circulate action quotes for approval and secure signature authority/place orders. - Compliance and Risk Mitigation
• Ensure alignment with applicable environmental regulations, corporate sustainability commitments, and industry benchmarks.
• Document annual compliance with municipal benchmarking ordinances and AER.
• Identify and mitigate environmental risks through proactive planning and process optimization.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience managing sustainability programs, preferably in a healthcare, manufacturing, or corporate setting.
- Experience in emergency management, continuity of operations (business continuity), risk management or a related field. (hospital/healthcare experience strongly preferred)
- Familiarity working within hospital environment preferred.
- Experience with training and exercise development and facilitation.
- Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction through sustainability strategies.
- Strong analytical and project management skills with experience managing budgets and timelines.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Familiarity with EPA Energy Star, Dept of Energy, ASHE, ISO 50001
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, ESG disclosures).
- Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and sustainability software platforms (e.g., EcoVadis, Sphera, or Greenly) is a plus.
