ASM GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Security Coordinator at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The Security Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of all security operations, ensuring the safety of guests, employees, and property at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. This role involves overseeing daily security activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, managing schedules for security staff, and responding to incidents. The Security Coordinator will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and local authorities to ensure a safe environment for guests, employees, and event participants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Included but not limited to:

Security Operations and Scheduling:

  • Coordinate daily security operations, including scheduling shifts and managing timekeeping for security personnel.
  • Ensure adequate security coverage for all events and venue activities.
  • Monitor access control systems, surveillance equipment, and incident tracking tools to maintain a secure environment.
  • Collaborate with event managers, operations teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless event security planning.
  • Communicate with other departments to coordinate safety procedures for high-profile events and large crowds.

Time and Attendance Management:

  • Monitor and track employee attendance, ensuring accurate timekeeping.
  • Process and verify Service Works Orders in Ungerboeck ensuring accurate billing information
  • Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to attendance and timekeeping.
  • Process and oversee employee fingerprint enrollments and communicates with the operations team via shift notes to retrieve employee timecards that are not recorded in the computerized time clock management system (i.e. ABI).

Incident Management and Reporting:

  • Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and security incidents, providing necessary coordination and communication.
  • Document incidents accurately and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • If applicable, liaise with law enforcement, emergency responders, and external partners during incidents.

Staff Training and Compliance:

  • Assist in the orientation and training of new security personnel, ensuring compliance with policies, union agreements, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor security staff performance and adherence to standards during events and operations.
  • Conduct audits to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.

Union Compliance:

  • Ensure all scheduling and operational practices comply with union contracts and regulations.

Administrative and Reporting Duties:

  • Manage schedules, timesheets, and payroll submissions for part-time and full-time security staff.
  • Maintain and update logs, incident reports, and security documentation.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Not substantially exposed to adverse conditions
  • Perform office-related functions in standard office settings – sitting and working on the computer and phone.
  • This position is event driven and may require flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on event schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in security operations or coordination, preferably in a hospitality, event, or venue management setting.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, emergency procedures, and incident management.
  • Proficiency in using security software, surveillance systems, and access control tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies with professionalism.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Skills and Abilities

  • Problem Solving: Ability to make quick decisions during emergencies.
  • Leadership: Experience managing schedules and coordinating a team.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for incident reporting and coordination with law enforcement.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in monitoring security systems and ensuring compliance

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Capability to lift or move equipment as required.
  • Capacity to lift and move office supplies and equipment as needed (up to 25 Ibs.)
