What we offer:
The SS Welder I/Trainer reports to the Stainless Steel (SS) Unit Production Supervisor. Using a TIG-welding process (by machine), Repair Booth techniques, this person welds stainless steel cylinders; in addition, they will be responsible for performing hand-weld repairs. Furthermore, the person assists with the responsibilities of the Machine Operator I and Machine Operator II. The company reserves the right to rotate employees to other departments or work assignments within the organization as needed based upon skill set, production needs, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Certificate or 1-3 years of experience in all weld processes. Must have reading, writing and simple math skills. Must be able to read blue prints and work with small hand tools including grinders. Must have previous experience working as a Machine Operator II within Stainless Steel. Forklift operation and maintenance of a current license is preferred. Must have the ability to work well with others and successfully complete a LMS training course related to coaching/training.

DUTIES
Operates highly complex machinery used in the production process. Adjusts and tig welds stainless steel shells and components from prints. Performs semi-complex machine set-ups; loads welder with component parts to be welded. Ensures machines are operating at required capacity and that production requirements are met. Monitors the performance of equipment; identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems in order to maintain efficient operations in accordance with the scorecard. Responsible to repair defects that occur in the machines during the production process and for making suggestions to the operators as to adjustments that should be made to prevent further defects. Observes machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance production. Monitors controls of welder (temp, cycle time, amps-volts, etc.). Recognizes process upset; both special and common cause, and notifies the appropriate person. Assists in preparing and maintaining scorecards, Gemba boards, etc., so that performance problems can be identified and resolved. Assists maintenance team in basic troubleshooting and equipment malfunctioning diagnostics. Maintains equipment and performs preventive maintenance notifying Group Leader/Maintenance personnel if welding machine malfunctions. Visually inspects welds to assure that blue prints, code and quality standards are met. May occasionally operate the forklift on an as needed basis (once certified). Performs assembly, packaging, housekeeping, and other related duties as may be assigned by the Group Leader or supervisor. Fills in for and supports Group Leader as needed. As the trainer, you will be responsible for training other Machine Operator I’s and/or II’s on the safe and efficient operations of the position, sign off job certification as needed. Assist in creating and or updating any existing new process and operations Control the scrap process with teammates using quality process sheets and guidelines Labor error identification/corrections with the team Supporting the training and development of peers within the organization. Assist in creating and or updating accurate FEMA Previous robotics experience preferred – training will be provided as necessary
