At our Finance Department in Medtronic, Plc, we focus on providing timely, relevant and actionable information to drive the strategic direction of the company.  The Financial Analyst is directly involved in achieving business goals through partnering with our Operations team in a fast paced environment. This role is site based and requires flexibility, agility and critical thinking. This role requires 4 days onsite.

A Day in The Life Of:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position provides excellent development potential for a strong analytical candidate. This position requires the person to work on site on your own initiative, critically communicate across multiple functions and requires flexibility to be involved in multiple areas of the Finance function. Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

• Business partnership with the Operational Team to provide guidance, influence, and analysis to optimize decision making
• Tier & Gemba Partnership: Financial guidance & problem solving. Decision analysis, cost benefit analysis/evaluation, financial performance reviews, KPI metric tracking & application of Medtronic Performance System {MPS} tool kit
• Site Strategic planning & Execution Plan Tracking: Programmatic Savings, Capital Projects, Volumes outlook, AOP & Forecasting guidance
• Financial Performance Reviews & Reporting: Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly
• MPS/Continuous Improvement: Promote, attend and participate in MPS, Zero Loss, Value Stream Analysis & Kaizen Events at the Site
• Collaborate & coordinate site deliverables across multiple COEs finance functions to support Annual planning/costing, Forecasts, Volumes, Programmatic Savings, Capital Planning & Month End activities

Key Skills & Experience  

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), preferably with 2+ years of post-qualification experience and level 8 degree
• Strong understanding of Finance function and Management Accounting processes
• Display strong technically ability, be willing to quickly learn our reporting systems and be capable of effectively partnering with various levels and functions within our organization
• Motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good business acumen
• High proficiency in MS Excel and presentation skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize key issues while working in a fast-paced environment is critical
• Excellent English Skills, both oral and written
• SAP or other ERP experience desirable

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
