About the Role

The AWS Business Development Manager  is responsible for accelerating AWS growth in New Zealand by recruiting, activating, and scaling high‑potential channel partners. This role owns partner‑led pipeline creation and execution, combining a strong hunter mindset with the ability to architect scalable, long‑term partner strategies that drive measurable AWS consumption growth.

Role Requirements

  • Proven new business development experience within NZ or ANZ technology markets
  • Strong experience in AWS channel ecosystems (distribution/two‑tier strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated success recruiting and scaling partners (MSPs, resellers, ISVs)
  • Solid understanding of AWS programs including MAP, OLA, and AWS Marketplace
  • Strong commercial, forecasting, and pipeline management discipline
  • Ability to engage confidently with executive, sales, and technical stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with a hunter mentality and long‑term ecosystem mindset
  • Willingness to travel across New Zealand

Role Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and activate high‑potential AWS partners across New Zealand
  • Own end‑to‑end partner onboarding through to first workloads and scale
  • Build and maintain a 3–5× qualified partner‑led pipeline
  • Convert opportunities through structured, repeatable partner‑led sales motions
  • Develop joint business plans with priority partners, including scorecards and targets
  • Orchestrate partner enablement across training, certifications, and AWS sales plays
  • Leverage AWS programs (MAP, OLA, Marketplace) to accelerate migration and growth
  • Drive disciplined AWS co‑sell engagement, governance, and CRM hygiene
