Our core Finance teams help to make TD the Better Bank by working together to deliver insightful advice, meaningful reporting and professional operations. The TD Finance operating model is comprised of three main parts:
Finance Operations – a centralized team performing a range of services such as general accounting, reporting, and transaction processing on behalf of Finance and the Enterprise
Business Partner – perform analytics and provide advice to the business to support strategy and decision-making.
Specialized Functions – providing domain or knowledge-based expertise to the Enterprise.

Job Description
As part of Finance's journey to modernize, mature and drive efficiencies across the Finance function, the Finance Operational Excellence and Transformation team plays an important role in streamlining finance operations and leveraging technology and data analysis to drive maturity.
As the Manager Finance, Operational Excellence and Transformation, you will provide ongoing support for the strategic refinement and oversight of the Operational Service Maturity Model, leveraged to guide and monitor the maturity roadmaps of the Finance Operations centre on their maturity journey. This involves maintenance of the model and roadmaps and guiding discussions on Service owner self-assessments and progress.
This team also provides leadership in driving solutions in support of process improvement and automation of highly manual processes. Currently the team supports the review of activities occurring at high demand periods like quarter and month end to determine how to reduce manual activities and journals to improve the efficiency and effectiveness. Key role in maintaining and monitoring the transactional data and ensuring reporting on progress to executive leadership. The role requires knowledge of Finance processes, tools, systems and key skills in data management and solution delivery.
Key Attributes
Finance - Act as a subject matter expert for FinOps and provide guidance and recommendations to the Finance and partners for changes in process and operations (i.e., process changes, source system changes).
Relationships - The role requires strong collaboration, project management and stakeholder management skills to align finance optimization efforts with the broader business needs. The manager needs to develop and maintain strong interaction model with Finance and FinOps colleagues on the execution of initiatives and prepare and present materials to stakeholders with recommendations and updates.
Data Management - Support the team in building and maintaining the team's data both in tracking status and in maintaining of the attributes of the task. Able to think about end goal, understand what data is needed and how it needs to be organized. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify complex problems generate solutions and recommend to the business partners.
Process Improvements - Identify and implement process improvements streamlining finance operations and leveraging technology and data analysis to drive efficiencies and introduce new capabilities. Participate in review of current state processes to identify opportunities and efficiencies. Collaborate cross-functionally to understand requirements, prioritize and align efforts.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-driven individual with a passion for leading and driving change to improve operational efficiency and modernize the finance function. Takes ownership and accountability for leading a team through solutioning including identifying and resolving issues, risks and making recommendations.
Qualification / Skills / Experience:
Strong knowledge in Finance processes, good understanding of accounting principles.
Versatile and adaptable, able to perform well in ambiguous situations and stay resilient under pressure. Outgoing, creative thinker, who demonstrates strong initiative and flexibility to change.
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task with a strong attention to detail. Thrive in a fast-paced environment, able to quickly adapt to change and manage through the ambiguities of multiple complex activities.
Proven experience/knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent data skills (manage, clean, organize, interpret, etc.), advanced excel skills (Xlookup, vlookup, if statements, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, etc.). Able to quickly use excel formulas and problem solving/logic to track down errors and data breaks/issues.
Strong data visualization skills and ability to interpret data and build visuals that are: relevant, value add, clear, dynamic, consistent & repeatable reporting of the data insights.
Understand the audience / end user. Create templates and models (in excel) that can be easily used by different skill levels. Ensure appropriate level of data is gathered to ensure audience appropriate reporting can be created and automated.
Proven track record of leading successful optimization initiatives or implementing improvements for your team or role and delivering change.
Exposure to Lean Continuous Improvements and an understanding of Change Management Methodology
Specific Education Requirements / Accreditations:
Bachelor's degree in finance or business
Minimum 10 years progressive experience in Accounting or Finance.
