The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will join the Mission Integration and Operations group in leading manufacturing efforts of our Hadley engines at a full system level. Working closely with production and development teams, this crucial role integrates manufacturing efforts across disciplines including combustion devices, turbomachinery, avionics, fluid and mechanical systems. 

 Responsibilities: 

 Support manufacturing development efforts in multiple technical areas across disciplines including combustion devices, turbomachinery, components, and avionics. 

  • Own engine-level manufacturing. 
  • Establish and communicate design for manufacturing principles in a collaborative role with the design engineering group 
  • Champion early development hardware to enable aggressive development engine programs, committing a hands-on role to first builds 
  • Support critical production needs for scaling, cost reduction, yield/quality related issues  
  • Lead strategic insourcing efforts across the manufacturing landscape 
  • Develop, publish, and maintain manufacturing and process specifications 
  • Troubleshoot engine and component hardware issues in the field, develop solutions with the Ursa team and customer, and lead implementation 
  • Identify and implement engine improvements focused on customer needs, risk reduction, and end-use 
  • Travel to customer sites to support field services 

 Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 
  • Hands on experience building development liquid propulsion engines or flight engine hardware 
  • 5+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing role  
  • Passion for developing customer relationships and ensuring mission success 
  • Willing to spend 30% of the year on travel for multi-week test and flight campaigns 

 Desired Experience: 

  • Experience with Siemens NX, Windchill, ERP systems 
  • Experience with system-level configuration control 
  • Hands-on experience in production manufacturing environments 
  • Technical expertise in liquid rocket engine manufacturing, integration, or test 
  • Technical expertise in vehicle stage systems and propulsion fluid systems 
  • Flight or test operational experience 
  • Demonstrated leadership in a customer-facing role 

 

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $90,000 - $130,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
