We are seeking an experienced Interventional Vascular Technologist to join the Cath Lab team, supporting our structural heart program in the hybrid operating room. In this fast-paced environment, you will care for patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures while working closely with physicians and a highly skilled interdisciplinary team, requiring strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and adaptability. In this role, you will provide technical assistance during both diagnostic and interventional procedures, including acquiring and processing images and delivering emergency on-call support as needed.

A caregiver in this role works days from 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

There are no weekends and no call.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Utilize sterile or aseptic techniques to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol. 

  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. 

  • Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams. 

  • Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects. 

  • Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information. 

  • Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair. 

  • Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology  

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing  

  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment to safely inject and image human vascular anatomy  

  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic exams 

  • Knowledge of sterile technique with ability to create and maintain sterile environment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist  

  • Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography [R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT)] or Vascular-Interventional Radiology [R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT)] 

  • Experience in a high-volume Angiography Department 

  • Prior cardiac OR or Cath Lab experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
