JOB PURPOSE
Leads the development and maintenance of best-in-class solutions for assigned product group. Includes systems analysis and development. Primarily responsible for ensuring delivery, team talent management and roadmapping.
As a Software Engineering Manager for Merchandising Technology, you will lead a dynamic team of software engineers, focused on delivering impactful solutions for Merchandise Planning at DICK’S Sporting Goods. Your role is central to the “Invetory 360” initiative, where you will guide the discovery, design, build, deployment, and ongoing support of both custom software and packaged/SaaS solutions. Working closely with product management, the i360 activation squad, and the architecture team, you will help transform inventory planning and purchasing processes. The team works in an agile, collaborative environment. In this role, you'll work closely with Product Management and Design to ensure cross-functional alignment and deliver innovative software. You’ll oversee team development, talent management, and implement best practices to drive impactful results for Athletes and Teammates.

Provide mentorship and coaching for software engineers, fostering professional growth and a culture of innovation.
Set clear goals and objectives for your teams, ensuring alignment with business priorities and the i360 initiative.
Drive the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions—from initial exploration and requirements gathering to design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners including product managers, activation squads, architects, and stakeholders to define roadmaps and deliver exceptional results.
Champion agile methodologies, facilitating ceremonies and promoting best practices for iterative development and rapid feedback.
Balance development across custom software, packaged software, and SaaS tools, selecting the right approach for each challenge.
Ensure high quality, reliability, and scalability in all delivered systems supporting merchandising and inventory planning.
Monitor and improve team performance, workflow, and morale, adapting to new challenges and evolving business needs.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending strategic improvements to keep DICK’S at the forefront of retail innovation.

Targeted Pay Range: $95,200.00 - $158,800.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
