The Opportunity:

As a CACI Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Instructor and Simulator Operator you will provide academic and practical instruction for all aspects of Fire Support including Terminal Attack Control, Naval Surface Fires, Artillery/Mortar Call for Fire, AC-130 Gunship, and Rotary Wing Attack Aviation. You will instruct, educate, and coach SOF Soldiers and Leaders at the point of need, in classroom, simulator, and field environments. You will operate Fire Support/Terminal Attack Control simulators and provide instruction for Close Air Support (CAS). Additionally, you will plan, develop, schedule, and synchronize all aspects of the JTAC Trainer/simulator, as well as develop realistic and challenging simulator training scenarios to meet the supported commands operational outcomes and objectives. You will advise and assist in the development training and mission rehearsal tasks with the intent to provide a common framework to for integration of Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming (LVCG) and Synthetic Training Environment (STE) systems/platforms, and simulation/emulation of JTAC and Forward Observer devices in use and/or advancements or life cycle replacement of JTAC and Forward Observer targeting/target acquisition devices.  

Responsibilities:

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide Terminal Attack Control academic instruction in accordance
  • Provide academic and practical instruction for all aspects of Fire Support including TAC, Naval Gunfire, Call for Fire, AC-130, and Attack Aviation.
  • Operate Fire Support/Terminal Attack Control simulators and provide instruction for USSOCOM JTACs, trainees and Close Air Support (CAS) familiarization.
  • Plan, develop, schedule, and synchronize all aspects of the JTAC Trainer, as well as develop realistic and challenging simulator training scenarios.
  • Attend simulator and operational conferences in order to stay abreast of current software/hardware applications.
  • Research new operational tactics, techniques and procedures that can be implemented into unit training.
  • Work at customer facilities, which require the ability to operate in both conventional and austere locations.
  • Travel to support the needs of the operating command being supported as required by the operating command local requirements
  • Perform instruction, training, and education in field environments and under seasonal and adverse weather conditions.
  • Perform instruction, training, and education in field environments requiring movement/transportation via watercraft, aircraft, and/or ground vehicular means.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Current Secret clearance
  • Previously qualified as a JTAC-I or certified and qualified JTAC (IAW the JTAC MOA or NATO ATP 3.3.2.2 JTAC Program.) while serving as a member of the Armed Forces.
  • Maintain qualification and currency as required in accordance with provisions set forth in the JTAC MOA.
  • Thorough understanding of principles, concepts, practices, and standards for JTAC training simulators.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 Desired: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited College or University.
  • Prior experience as JTAC-I and/or JTAC-E.
  • Prior Instructor at USAF, USN, USMC JTAC/TACP schools.
  • Prior Instruct at Special Operations Terminal Attack Controller Course (SOTACC).
  • Prior experience as Forward Air Controller Airborne FAC(A).
  • TS-SCI Clearance

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$50,400 - $105,800
