Title: Enterprise Data Architect
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Reports To: Head of Data Engineering
About the Role
The Enterprise Data Architect will be responsible for defining and
implementing the enterprise data architecture strategy that supports the
organization’s digital transformation and business objectives. This
individual will design scalable, secure, and efficient data ecosystems that
enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
You’ll partner with engineering, analytics, product, and business teams to
ensure the organization’s data assets are well-structured, governed, and
leveraged effectively to deliver business value.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture strategy,
including data models, integration patterns, data flows, and storage
solutions.
Design and oversee enterprise data platforms (data lakes,
warehouses, and real-time data pipelines) to support analytics, AI/ML,
and operational needs.
Collaborate with business and technology leaders to align data
architecture with enterprise strategy and ensure interoperability
across systems.
Establish data governance frameworks including metadata
management, data quality, master data management (MDM), and
lineage.
Define data standards and best practices for data modeling, storage,
and integration across the organization.
Partner with cloud and engineering teams to design and implement
scalable cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Sensitivity: Company-Internal
Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools that
improve efficiency, scalability, and performance.
Mentor data engineers and architects to ensure architectural
consistency and adherence to enterprise standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or
enterprise architecture roles.
Strong understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical),
relational and non-relational databases.
Deep expertise in modern data platforms such as Snowflake,
Databricks, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery.
Experience designing data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Apache
Airflow, dbt, Informatica, Fivetran).
Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, APIs, and event-driven data
systems (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
Familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR,
CCPA, data security best practices).
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex
technical concepts into business language.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, and real-time data
applications.
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF,
Zachman).
Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or large-scale
consumer platforms is a plus


 

Annual Salary

$195,000.00 - $315,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
