We’re responsible for CommBank’s key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning.

You will be responsible to role model ‘best of best’ technical thinking, along with informal team leadership in driving multiple projects as an engineer lead.

You will be a part of a passionate team that works across AWS Cloud, Ontology tooling, Graph database, LLM, Big Data Platform and executing state-of-the-art DevOps practices

We are interested in hearing from people who:

· Are comfortable working across the full lifecycle of agile projects (ideation through implementation)

· Are happy working as an individual contributor that pushes our analytics platforms forward, delivering increasing levels of self-service, automation and reduced operational risk

· Have an excellent understanding of data structures including time variant and dimensional models, algorithms, operating systems, and/or distributed systems.

· Have experience in implementation of data platforms at Enterprise level

· Are confident in leading and guiding in building group data products from scratch, by integrating large sets of data from hundreds of internal and external sources

· Have extensive experience in cloud technologies (AWS is a strong preference) as well as DevOps methodology

· A true passion to learn new skills, along with being diligent to solve data problems with a proactive, risk-mindset.

· A natural ability to lead & mentor other engineers, while being able to educate, communicate and positively influence large stakeholder groups is highly essential!

· Knowledge around data modelling and GenAI would be advantageous.

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

· Graph database e.g. Neo4j and AWS Neptune

· AWS Cloud Infrastructure, infrastructure as code

· REST API and GraphQL along with backend coding expertise in any programming language

· CICD tooling e.g. Github, Teamcity, Jenkins

· Realtime streaming technologies, Kafka is desirable
