Job Description:
The Position:
- Greets and directs visitors in a positive and helpful manner. Provides any necessary instructions/directions. Informs appropriate department of the patient’s arrival
- Collects copays, schedules appointments, prepares paperwork, makes appointment reminder phone calls
- Enter and balance daily patient charge sheet, ensures all patient files are accurately updated
- Answers telephone in professional manner, screens calls and takes concise messages. Listens to and evaluates needs of callers and handles appropriately, with a focus on customer service and assistance
- Supplements office staff by assisting with computer input/typing, appointments scheduling, preparation of forms, correspondence, compilation of data, and other various projects
- Assists in maintenance of office equipment and supplies while maintaining a clean orderly reception area.
- Performs other duties or assists with projects as assigned
- Create a positive long lasting impression on patients
Qualifications (Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year receptionist experience, preferably in a health care environment
- Ability to use MS Word, Outlook, Excel, EMR systems, preferable Allscripts
- Interpersonal and communication skills in order to deal effectively, tactfully and courteously with callers, physicians and personnel in an expeditious manner
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to work independently in a high stress area with good organizational skills
Salary Range:
$19-20 hourly
