Principal Full Stack Engineer
Fidelity Wealth Group – Core Wealth Platform Technology is looking for a passionate Principal Full Stack Engineer drive the development of software solutions for its business-critical Core Wealth Platform Operations. The Team
As a Principal Full Stack Developer, your primary role will be to understand and analyzing emerging business requirements, translate is to a modern solution design and innovate for platform stability and resiliency. You will assist and work with architects and engineers to help deliver the solution into production. You will be expected to quickly gain understanding of the business needs and collaborate with the domain and solution architects to define and implement the next generation platform operations focused AWS and AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components for core applications.
Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code for both front-end (user interfaces) and back-end (servers, APIs, databases) components.
Ensure the performance, security, and scalability of micro-service based applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, standards, and strategies.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
Investigate and share innovative practices with team members.
Required Expertise
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years commercial development experience.
Strong experience in Java development using Spring Boot.
Strong database experience, conversant in building queries and understanding Store procedures.
Experience with Front End technologies such as React and Angular
Proficiency in developing RESTful backend services.
Experience in event driven systems and streaming.
Familiarity with microservices architectures and cloud-native Kubernetes environments.
Experience working in a CI/CD environment with tools like Git SCM, Jenkins, and Docker.
Familiarity with Agile practices and experience delivering software in an Agile environment.
Ability to validate, monitor, and solve issues during development, testing, or in production.
Strong working knowledge of modern observability platforms, including distributed tracing, log management, metrics, alerting, and dashboarding—leveraging technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Datadog, and Amazon CloudWatch to enable proactive monitoring across distributed applications.
Experience with AWS Step Functions for orchestrating microservices, workflow automation, error‑handling logic, and long‑running asynchronous processes.
Familiarity with AWS DevGuru insights to identify code inefficiencies and operational anomalies, improving performance and resource utilization.
Deep understanding of AWS Metrics, including custom metric creation, metric filters, and optimization of alerting strategies for application health and performance visibility.
Hands‑on experience configuring and optimizing AWS database environments (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB), including parameter tuning, performance insights, backups, security, and cost-efficient scaling.
Proficiency with Amazon S3, including bucket policies, lifecycle rules, versioning, performance optimization, encryption, event notifications, cross-region replication, and cost governance.
Understanding of environment configuration across AWS—IAM roles, VPC networking, security groups, parameter store/secrets manager, environment variable management, and multi‑account deployment hygiene.
Foundational understanding of LLM models — including their reasoning capabilities, multimodal strengths, and how to integrate these models into enterprise architectures.
Familiarity with LLM Platforms such as OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock, including foundation‑model selection, prompt‑flow orchestration, agent workflows, embeddings, and secure enterprise deployment patterns for GenAI applications.
Experience leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) for development acceleration, content generation, code transformation, automated documentation, test creation, and intelligent troubleshooting.
Ability to integrate AI services into backend systems, microservices, and developer workflows responsibly with governance, monitoring, and cost optimization.
