JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

As an Evaluation Associate II at Centerstone, you will provide leadership for field-based evaluation projects, including Research/Evaluation Planning, Data Collection and Data Management, Data Reporting and Dissemination, and tasks related to continuous quality improvement. You will manage program evaluations for federally-funded, state-funded, or contracted evaluation services, including developing and implementing evaluation protocols and databases, preparing IRB applications, and disseminating evaluation reports/presentations. You will work closely with the Project Director and other program staff to achieve programmatic goals and objectives, and to address any barriers to achieving project goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capacity to work effectively independently and within a team, while managing responsibilities and prioritizing tasks in an environment with overlapping activities and multiple competing priorities. Additionally, Evaluation Associates will provide training and supervision of evaluation staff including Research Associates, Evaluation Associates, or interns. Successful Evaluation Associates at this level will lead discussions about evaluation design with the Project Director, take on expansive leadership responsibilities based on their experience, and contribute to the Institute as a whole in workgroups and other public presentations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Planning and Management

  • Participate as an active team member or team leader in the planning, implementation and maintenance of evaluations (e.g., provide project management leadership, provide ongoing information for project improvement and model fidelity, etc.)
  • Manage timelines for grant scopes and deliverables
  • Provide oversight of IRB activities related to applications, amendments, and continuing reviews
  • Design/ Implement/ Execute fidelity monitoring protocols
  • Serve as a liaison between grant officials, program staff, and the evaluation team

Data Collection, management, and analysis

  • Prepare and submit IRB applications and amendments, and support junior staff in similar efforts
  • Develop systems and ensure that all data are collected and submitted as required by funding agencies (e.g., follow-up percentages met, databases developed, data entered and cleaned within specific time requirements, etc.)
  • Conduct and oversee quantitative or qualitative data analysis, and be skilled at effectively reporting and using data visualization
  • Maintain security through password protection, encryption, and de-identification.

Data Reporting and Dissemination

  • Prepare comprehensive internal and external reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide ongoing reports and presentations for program improvement efforts
  • Facilitate the utilization of information by decision makers
  • Write reports and create presentations on findings for internal and external dissemination, including conferences, publications, and for Centerstone grant applications

Organizational Development

  • May include managing at least 1 direct report (eg. providing performance appraisal and advocacy, approving timesheets, administrative functions, etc)
  • Manage the work of Research Associates or interns
  • Train evaluation staff and supervisees including onboarding for new staff
  • Participate or lead internal workgroups or committees that contribute to the overall success of the Program Evaluation Division, including workgroups supporting Key Performance Indicators
  • Participate in internal workgroups and/or committees that contribute to the overall success and the Program Evaluation Division

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of behavioral sciences and program evaluation approaches and methods
  • Familiarity with the federal guidelines for conducting human subjects research.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to protection of human research subjects and Institutional Review Board (IRB) operations
  • Advanced knowledge of behavioral sciences and program evaluation approaches and methods
  • Familiarity with protections for human subjects in research, diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to human research subjects and Institutional Review Board (IRB) operations
  • Advanced understanding of data management and analysis software and methods (eg. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SPSS, REDCap, Atlas ti)
  • Effectively supervise at least 1 direct report

QUALIFICATIONS

         

Education Level              

Bachelor’s degree required in social sciences, mental health, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Years of Experience       

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program evaluation or applied research, preferably with advanced project management experience.

Pay Range:

$46,000.00--$64,470.00
