09The Role: Associate Analyst, Metals & Mining Research, Ferrous Metals (Metallurgical Coal & Steel)
The Team: S&P Global Commodity Insights, a premier sector-focused news and information provider, is looking to expand our Commodity Briefing Service team. In this newly created role, you will develop supply-demand models focused on global coking coal markets and India’s steel industry. This will support insightful, forward-looking research, including supply-demand and pricing forecasts.
The Career Opportunity: In this role you will be part of a highly motivated and growing global group of analysts further expanding our footprint in the commodity space. Situated within the wider team, you will raise your presence as an authority on various aspects of the commodity supply chain. You will have exposure to product development across teams, work with experienced analysts on all aspects of the value chain, and gain experience on a range of other traded commodities. This will be a great platform for you to continue to grow and broaden your value professionally as either a contributing analyst, and where experience merits, as a go to contact among international media and our client base.

Our high-quality products and services help clients identify, benchmark and value new business opportunities, monitor competitors and market trends, and act on strategies more confidently and efficiently.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have some experience as an analyst focused on ferrous metals or coal (preferably metallurgical coal), be educated to degree level or above, and have an enthusiastic and keen approach to learning and developing on their existing knowledge of commodity markets. Experience in building supply/demand and price forecasting models will be advantageous.
