Job Description

What’s the Opportunity?

RBC is seeking a skilled Senior Program Manager, Operational Risk and Resilience to support our strategic Operational Resilience Program. In this role, you'll strengthen governance and risk management practices, execute operational resilience methodology, and deliver measurable outcomes that enhance organizational preparedness. You'll work on high-impact initiatives that matter and grow your expertise while making a tangible difference for RBC. What will you do?

  • Design and deliver program to Senior Management and Steering Committees (100% on-time delivery)
  • Coordinate and schedule all program governance meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes and action item tracking within prescribed timelines
  • Coordinate and execute operational resilience lifecycle activities; document results, findings, and remediation recommendations
  • Develop and maintain integrated program schedules and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively track program timelines and dependencies; flag at-risk items and support closure of regulatory and compliance issues (>95% on time, zero slippage)
  • Leverage analytics, automation, and AI to improve program reporting; identify and implement operational efficiency opportunities

What will you need to succeed?

Must- have:

  • University degree, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in executing operational risk management practices in large financial services including implementing appropriate strategies to mitigate risk
  • Advanced program coordination and management skills with demonstrated success
  • Ability to develop and maintain integrated program schedules, roadmaps, and governance processes
  • Strong understanding of operational resilience practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills for diverse audiences, including senior leadership
  • Expertise in planning, schedules, roadmaps, and status reporting
  • Risk and issue management proficiency; ability to identify and escalate material risks proactively
  • Proficiency with planning and scheduling tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Planview)
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and apply delivery frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Strong organizational skills managing multiple concurrent priorities in dynamic environments
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to independently recognize problems, propose solutions and execute them

Nice-to-have:

  • Operational Risk Management or Internal Audit background
  • Bachelor's degree (BBA/MBA)
  • PMP/PGMP certification
  • Change Management certification (CCMP, Prosci, APMG)
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet)
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking)
