The Lead Application Engineer provides technical support to ensure flawless execution of Baker Hughes products and services. This role collaborates closely with global portfolio management, engineering, regional service delivery, and commercial teams to optimize product selection and meet client requirements. The application engineer serves as a subject matter expert (SME), offering solutions, troubleshooting support, and sharing expertise internally and externally.
 

Lead Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for:
 

  • Providing technical and application support for global requests.

  • Serving as SME for IPS, Upper, and/or Lower Completions product segments.

  • Supporting sales with product recommendations and application guidance.

  • Developing and delivering training for field specialists, engineers, and support staff.

  • Training customers on new and existing products and services.

  • Documenting calculations, simulations, and planning revisions in compliance with the Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process.

  • Leading incident investigations, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.

  • Ensuring timely incident resolution and troubleshooting support to enhance customer satisfaction and cash collection.

  • Identifying opportunities for product improvement based on recurring failures.

  • Participating in product design reviews, ensuring training and documentation needs are addressed.

  • Collaborating with engineering teams to promote global standards and facilitate knowledge transfer.

  • Leading or supporting special projects.

To be successful in this role you will:
 

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Have a 10+ years of relevant experience in Completions technologies.

  • Have experience supporting multiple products within IPS, Upper, and/or Lower Completions.

  • Have strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing, and planning skills.

  • Have proven ability to work in a global matrix organization.

  • Have ability for on-call support outside normal business hour.

  • Have willingness to travel globally for customer meetings, operations, and rig site support.
