Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Program Cost, Schedule, and Control Analyst to join our team of diverse professionals. The location for this role is in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system

  • Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines

  • Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis

  • Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled

  • Reviews schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks

  • Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government

  • Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines

  • Preparation and presentation of financial and earned value data to internal and external customers, including variance analysis and forecasts

  • Preparation and presentation of Estimate at Complete packages

  • Solicit, analyze and proactively challenge baseline and schedule inputs/updates as well as recommending workarounds to CAMs

Basic Qualifications for Principal Program Cost, Schedule, and Control Analyst (Level 3):

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider one of following:

    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of program cost, schedule, and control experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business, finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of program cost, schedule, and control experience

    • Master’s degree in a business, finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of program cost, schedule, and control experience

  • Experience in financial planning and reporting tools such as SAP and MPM or Cobra

  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Program Cost, Schedule, and Control Analyst (Level 4):

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider one of following:

    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of program cost, schedule, and control experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business, finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of program cost, schedule, and control experience

    • Master’s degree in a business, finance, or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of program cost, schedule, and control experience

  • Experience in financial planning and reporting tools such as SAP and MPM or Cobra

  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of Earned Value Management (EVM) experience

  • Experience successfully managing and producing data with strict deadlines

  • Experience collaborating with technical functions on a project/program

  • Experience with Precision or Cognos

  • Experience with SAP/BW reporting such as Analysis Office

  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, sumif, conditional formatting, etc.)

  • Defense Industry experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret

  • Strong analytical ability

  • The ability to identify issues and make recommendations to management for resolution or mitigation

  • Strong PC skills and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel

Salary Range: $104,900.00 - $157,300.00Salary Range 2: $84,600.00 - $127,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
