Position Summary

The Aetna Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Data Analytics & Application Support team is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Data Analytics team within the health insurance sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and leveraging data-driven insights to support decision-making. This position requires an understanding of health insurance operations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and actionable manner.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis to identify gaps in current processes and propose solutions to improve operational efficiency & effectiveness

  • Work with project stakeholders to understand their needs and translating those needs into business requirements, strategies and milestones

  • Document business requirements, create project plans, and track progress against key milestones

  • Support the development and implementation of new processes, tools, and systems that improve data accuracy and accessibility

  • Coordinate and perform user acceptance testing

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardized templates, guidelines, and methodologies

  • Act as a liaison between the Data Analytics team and business partners, ensuring that data insights align with business objectives

  • Present findings and recommendations to management, providing clear explanations of data analyses

  • Actively contribute to brainstorming sessions and collaborative projects, including sharing ideas, providing feedback, and contributing to the overall goals and objectives of the team


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a business analyst role within the health insurance or healthcare industry.

  • Advanced experience in Excel and other Microsoft Office products


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools like Power BI, SQL, SAS and/or Tableau

  • Experience in health insurance process as well as healthcare fraud, waste and abuse

  • Experience with process maps & flow charts

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced virtual environment.

  • Bachelors Degree


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
