What You Will Achieve

The Supply Chain Business Lead (SCBL) is responsible to advance and grow the Global Clinical Supply (GCS) business of delivering clinical supplies to patients.  

The SCBL drives growth by supporting all lines in GCS with business planning, operations & external engagement activities. The optimization of all these elements internally and externally, enables colleagues and leaders to effectively develop flexible and creative clinical supply solutions in support of the delivery of Pfizer’s portfolio.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Deliver business strategy, scorecard tracking, and risk analysis for resource and capacity management in support of the GCS budget business cycle.
  • Provide technical supply chain subject matter expertise on the GCS supplier engagement process inclusive of overarching governance and supplier performance management.
  • Represent GCS Scientific and Technical operational lines as appropriate on any Sourcing and Enterprise Services (S&ES) requests for supplier information and for any technical issue resolution at high touch suppliers.
  • Simplify complex scenarios to drive strategic and operational decisions for the portfolio inclusive of any supplier support for acquisitions, divestitures, and multi-party relationships.
  • Lead projects impacting the design of the GCS network and associated performance including resource modeling design and supplier performance metric automation.
  • Use Pfizer's systems, tools and reporting capabilities to oversee and communicate GCS budget, resource, operational, portfolio and supplier performance.
  • Use technical operational and Clinical Development portfolio data to analyze and interpret past results, perform variance analysis, identify future trends, and recommend business operations improvements for GCS.
  • Lead cross-functional implementation teams to increase productivity and drive cycle time reduction internally within Business Operations and Global Clinical Supply and externally with suppliers in collaboration with other business lines.
  • Partner across GCS and quality to measure, and monitor supplier operational performance, establish action plans, track progress, report and communicate to ensure GCS relationship, financial, quality, and operational objectives are achieved.
  • Establish GCS level external supplier governance; and lead governance related regular and ad hoc meetings with key stakeholders (e.g., GCS Leadership, S&ES, Finance, Supplier leadership and Quality) that results in dependable and productive relationships.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Applicant must have Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Logistics, or in a related field. 

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience within global clinical supply in a pharmaceutical company or relevant industry experience. 

  • Proficiency with business operations, vendor engagement and vendor oversight. 

  • Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills, to aggregate detailed data into digestible information that can be used to support decision making. 

  • Ability to manage large budget and associated financial aspects to deliver on time against tight timelines. 

  • Management of multi-disciplinary teams that includes collaboration, innovating, measuring work, negotiation, straight talk and delivering to milestones 

 

Nice-to-Have:

  • Vendor Management experience specific to clinical supply chain management  
  • Advanced training in supply chain management, a scientific discipline, pharmacy and/or business administration are desirable. 
  • Experience with drug development, clinical study design, clinical trial operations and clinical trial execution scientific research, pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience with business operations, clinical packaging, labeling, distribution, IRT and supplier management are highly desirable. 
  • Project Management certification is desirable.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environment Requirements:

  • This role is standard day Monday through Friday work shift; some off-shift support needed when issues arise.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,500.00 to $155,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
