Summary of the position:

As the Aftermarket Area Manager at Hitachi Global Air Power, you'll play a vital role in driving our growth trajectory and ensuring customer satisfaction within the stationary equipment sector for the Hitachi Global Air Power brand of air compressors. Your primary objectives will revolve around driving growth in aftermarket sales, fostering strong partnerships with our distributors and partners, and maintaining customer satisfaction post-purchase.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with distributors and customers to aggressively grow aftermarket sales in alignment with growth targets.
  • Lead the execution of sales programs and events to drive engagement and revenue.
  • Develop comprehensive annual aftermarket sales strategies for various regions, offering strategic guidance for goal attainment.
  • Analyze regional sales performance and devise corrective measures to address any challenges and ensure continued growth.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to distributors and channel partners, providing insights and recommendations to help them maximize parts sales opportunities.
  • Equip distributors and channel partners with the necessary sales tools, resources, and marketing materials to effectively promote aftermarket parts to their customers.
  • Strategic and tactical coordination with the stationary equipment sales team to ensure alignment and synergy.
  • Act as the primary liaison for gathering customer and partner feedback, providing valuable insights to relevant teams.
  • Devise strategies for partners, including parts and service programs tailored to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct aftermarket sales training sessions to equip partners with the necessary skills for effective sales and service.
  • Set and monitor service training objectives with distributors and partners, addressing any skills gaps as needed.
  • Utilize data analysis to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to regain lost customers.
  • Introduce innovative initiatives to drive post-sales growth and customer retention.
  • Develop stocking plans for parts inventory based on regional market demands.
  • Act as the key interface between partners and our customer service team to resolve post-sales issues promptly.
  • Ensure warranty protocols are understood and properly implemented for efficient and effective response when needed.
  • Generate regular reports and analyses to evaluate performance, identify areas for growth, and inform strategic decision-making.

 Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Engineering, Technical, or related field strongly preferred. Equivalent field experience will be considered for the right candidate.

Professional experience:

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in Business, Sales, Technical, and/or Marketing fields. Consideration will be given for significant experience as former air compressor field service technicians/mechanics.
  • Air compressor or other industrial rotary equipment sales or service experience is highly preferred.
  • Technical and/or service and support background, particularly in industrial field service support and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Experience cross-functionally, building trust and applying influence within an independent distribution network of companies is a plus.
  • Experience developing sales action plans, KPIs and holding others accountable to achieve results is required.
  • Must be comfortable communicating/training technical concepts to groups of peers.
  • Must be comfortable with regular travel.
  • PC Proficiency with emphasis on Microsoft office programs
