Position: Software Engineer III

Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Integrate experiences that leverage Walmart’s stores and website to sell anything, to anyone, anywhere in the world. Design and develop high-performance and scalable applications for use within Walmart’s Services and Platform product ecosystem using Java, Cassandra, and NOSQL. Build high throughput data pipelines that enable sophisticated item setup workflows for users setting up items on Walmart.com. Lay the foundation for Walmart's future global platform and propose solutions to ease software development and the monitoring of software. Participate in the design and build of different item setup modules including content processing, fulfillment, payment processing, and logistics. Build scalable orchestrator applications which leverage complex algorithms for routing and transforming millions of requests. Build n-tier applications using REST, Java/J2EE, NOSQL, and related technologies. Manage code and configurations for multiple environments and release management processes. Create and maintain environment configuration, controls, and code integrity. Analyze business requirements, story-boards, and similar artifacts of the scrum process. Work in an agile development environment with a quick turnaround time and iterative builds. Work in a team environment sharing innovative ideas and working collaboratively across teams.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Data Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills Required: Experience working with async programming paradigm. Experience with frameworks to build scalable microservices. Experience with version control systems. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and unit test frameworks. Experience with distributed messaging platforms. Experience designing NoSQL database Elastic Search for faster read and write operations. Experience setting up applications on different environments. Experience designing and developing scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant REST APIs using Java and Spring frameworks. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
