What the Role Entails

Tencent Finance is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of Workday Financials within our Finance IT Management Department. This role owns end-to-end delivery — planning, design, configuration, data migration, testing, cutover, and post–go-live stabilization — across multiple legal entities, regions, and business lines.

The core of this role is rigorous planning and relentless follow-through: building a realistic, dependency-aware project plan, driving execution against it, and identifying and neutralizing risks before they reach the critical path. The Senior Project Manager keeps multiple parallel workstreams on schedule while coordinating Finance and IT teams, implementation partners, and Workday resources in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of Workday Financials implementations, from initiation and planning through build, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.

  • Build and maintain integrated project plans covering scope, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and resources, while keeping the critical path visible and realistic.

  • Drive day-to-day execution and follow-through by tracking progress against the baseline, driving open items to closure, and taking corrective action as soon as variances arise.

  • Lead proactive risk and issue management by anticipating risks, assessing impact and probability, defining mitigation and contingency plans, and driving issues through to resolution.

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and workstreams, balancing priorities and resources while coordinating cross-project dependencies across regions and functional teams.

  • Enforce scope and change control, ensuring clear requirements sign-off, documented design decisions, and appropriate approvals.

  • Plan and drive data migration, integration delivery, testing cycles (SIT, UAT, and period-close dry runs), and go-live readiness assessments.

  • Manage implementation partners and vendors, including statements of work, effort estimates, deliverable quality, and budget utilization.

  • Align Finance process owners and end users on process design, internal controls (including SOX), change management, and user enablement.

  • Maintain project management standards, delivery cadence, and documentation using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project or Smartsheet.

Who We Look For

  • 7+ years of project or program management experience in enterprise applications, including at least 3 full-lifecycle ERP implementations delivered in a project management role.
  • Proven expertise in project planning, schedule and budget control, dependency tracking, and scope and change governance.
  • Demonstrated risk management capability, including anticipating, assessing, and mitigating delivery risks across complex programs.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, multi-country ERP or finance transformation programs for multinational enterprises, including multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-ledger environments.
  • Solid working knowledge of Workday Financials modules, such as Financial Accounting, Supplier and Customer Accounts, Procurement, Expenses, Business Assets, Banking and Settlement, Projects, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, with strong prioritization, resource management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing implementation partners and system integrators, including SOW management, deliverable acceptance, performance management, and escalation.
  • Experience leading data migration, integrations (including banking, tax, procurement, HR, and legacy SAP or Oracle systems), and cutover planning.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or Smartsheet, with experience working across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of core finance processes, including record-to-report, procure-to-pay, period close, and fixed assets, as well as the related internal control environment.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin with international teams preferred but not required
  • Willingness to work across U.S., Asia, and Europe time zones and to travel occasionally based on project needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Finance system implementation experience in the gaming, internet, media, or other high-growth technology industries.
  • Workday Financials certification or prior delivery experience with a Workday implementation partner.
  • PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, or SAFe certification.
  • Experience establishing or operating a PMO for a multi-year finance transformation roadmap.
