Key Responsibilities:
ServiceNow CMDB Management
- Maintain and update the ServiceNow CMDB to ensure accurate and up-to-date configuration data.
- Develop and implement processes for CMDB data quality and integrity.
- Perform regular audits and reconciliation of the CMDB to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Data Imports and Quality Control
- Design and execute data import processes to load data into the CMDB from various sources.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of imported data.
- Develop and maintain scripts or tools to automate data import and quality control processes.
Reporting and Analytics
- Create and manage reports and dashboards to provide insights into CMDB data and related IT assets.
- Generate custom reports to meet the needs of different stakeholders within the organization.
- Analyze data trends and provide recommendations for improving data management practices.
Development and Scripting
- Utilize SQL to query and manipulate data for reporting and quality control purposes.
- Develop scripts or applications to enhance the functionality and automation of CMDB-related tasks.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to integrate CMDB data with other IT systems and tools.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to understand data requirements and deliver accurate reports.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders on using ServiceNow CMDB and related reporting tools.
- Act as a point of contact for any CMDB-related inquiries or issues.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in IT data management, database administration, or a similar role.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) tools is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, reporting, and data manipulation.
- Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
- Experience with data import/export processes and tools.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow CMDB and ITSM modules is preferred but not mandatory.
