We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
ABOUT US:
With 2024 sales and revenues of $64.8 billion, Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
For 100 years, we’ve been helping customers build a better, more sustainable world and are committed and contributing to a reduced-carbon future. Our innovative products and services, backed by our global dealer network, provide exceptional value that helps customers succeed.
Caterpillar does business on every continent, principally operating through three primary segments – Construction Industries, Resource Industries and Energy & Transportation – and providing financing and related services through our Financial Products segment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Caterpillar is currently seeking an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Controller to lead the implementation and reporting for the SEC’s new ESG rules and work with many organizations cross-functionally.
This role is part of the Corporate Accounting Services group within the Global Finance Services Division (GFSD) and will report directly to Caterpillar’s Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.
This ESG Controller's responsibilities will span the entire GFSD organization and also coordinate with and represent other members of the Global Finance Services Organization (GFSO), working closely with Caterpillar’s Corporate Affairs, Legal, Investor Relations, Global Compensation and Benefits and Enterprise Strategy Group, as well as Engineering, Operations, and other functional teams across the company on ESG initiatives and commitments.
JOB DUTIES:
This role is a key leader in Caterpillar’s ESG efforts. Caterpillar has a long history of social and environmental commitments. Delivering on important ESG goals is not just critical for society but also for our business. We believe that keeping these goals at the forefront makes us stronger in the long run, and our customers, partners, current and former employees, and governments demand it.
We’ve been creating and measuring progress and outcomes of our ESG initiatives and commitments on a global scale for many years. By setting clear goals, measuring our progress, and transparently reporting our impact, we’re able to provide an account of the difference we are making and to learn from our outcomes.
The ESG Controller is a key leader to ensure that Caterpillar meets its commitments, ensures transparency in its reporting, and develops and implements the necessary systems, processes, and controls to ensure success.
