The Mailroom / Warehouse Lead is tasked with coordinating daily mailroom and warehouse operations while performing hands-on distribution, shipping, and receiving duties. This role functions as a working lead, providing direction to associates, ensuring service levels are met, and supporting overall operational efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sort incoming mail, courier packages, and freight for distribution.
  • Distribute and collect mail and packages along assigned campus routes.
  • Process outgoing mail and packages to ensure same-day shipment.
  • Determine and affix appropriate postage; maintain accurate records for postage, registered mail, and packages.
  • Perform warehouse functions including receiving shipments, unloading deliveries, staging materials, tracking inventory, and organizing storage areas.
  • Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts.
  • Assist associates and internal customers with shipping requests, warehouse needs, and parts orders.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized mailroom and warehouse environment.
  • Serve as the lead for daily mailroom and warehouse operations by assigning work and prioritizing tasks.
  • Provide guidance and training to associates on procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for mailroom and warehouse-related questions or issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors, couriers, and internal departments to tackle service or delivery concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with postal regulations, carrier requirements, and company policies.
  • Support management with workflow coordination, reporting, and operational continuity as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a mailroom, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or related environment required.
  • Prior lead or senior-level experience preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
  • Solid customer service, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with associates, vendors, and customers at all levels.
  • Basic computer proficiency required; experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings and overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Position requires frequent lifting, lowering, and carrying of packages.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
