About Team:
Search Team at Walmart is responsible for driving the e-commerce Search across multiple Walmart sites. We work in an ever-changing environment and use cutting-edge technologies to solve complex business problems. At Walmart, we work across borders, and without limits. As a member of this team, you would be working on ML Platform for Search.
The ML-Platform in Search is responsible of Search Machine Learning Lifecycle from Model Training to Model Deployment. The team is also responsible for Search Metrics including Find-It Reporting and Human Evaluation from Internal Metrics.
What you will do:
As a Full Stack Staff Engineer, Search for Walmart Global Tech, you’ll have the opportunity to
Apply and/or develop ML solutions to develop ML experimentation lifecycle at Walmart scale.
Play a key role to solve complex problems, pivotal to Walmart’s business and drive actionable insights from terabytes of data.
Collaborate with counterparts in business, engineering, and science to find impactful solutions to business problems.
Define and/or develop the metrics for evaluation of models
Work closely with Data Scientist and delivered scalable, standardized solution for ML practitioners need.
Develop PoC, present lucidly to the business and evolve the solutions.
Take forward the solutions into Pipelines/APIs as needed by the business.
Research, learn/disseminate & adapt new technologies to solve problems & improve upon existing solutions.
Adopt Wal-Mart’s quality standards and develop and recommend process standards and best practices across the retail industry.
Learning as applicable to the retail industry.
Mentor peers and junior members and handle multiple projects at the same time.
Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
What you will bring:
10+ years of experience in the design and development of highly scalable distributed applications and platforms - particularly for multi-tenant, SaaS products.
Ability to work both in backend and frontend technologies stack.
Experience building a 'Code, Deploy, Run' pipeline using DevOps best practices by leveraging the best available CI/CD tools.
Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
Own Tech Debt/Tech Modernization - Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
Having proficiency in Java/J2EE, Microservices, and Cloud Native Architecture.
Hands-on experience in Microservices, and RESTful web services development in Java
Hands-on experience working on NodeJs and React.
Experience with big data platforms - Hadoop(Hive, Pig, Map Reduce, HQL) / Spark would be added benefit.
Experience with multiple stakeholder management, data based story-telling, mentoring peers and juniors, multiple project handling at the same time.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns, and configuration tools for faster development.
Hands on experience in building products on Azure/GCP would be an preferred.
