The Field Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient management of all field production operations. This role ensures that field activities are planned, executed, and monitored to deliver high‑quality seed on time and in alignment with production targets, distribution plans, and inventory requirements. The position involves close coordination with internal teams, contract growers, and external partners, while leading field teams with full operational accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all field production activities to ensure timely and high‑quality seed production
Manage field production resources: manpower, machinery, equipment, tools, facilities, and raw materials
Develop and monitor field production plans, schedules, and budgets
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Supervise and lead field supervisors and operational staff
Manage relationships with contract growers, suppliers, and local partners
Monitor crop development, field performance, and risks; take corrective actions when required
Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and quality teams
Analyze operational data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement
People Management
Lead, coach, and develop staff across operational areas
Ensure training and capability development within field teams
Promote a strong safety culture and high‑performance mindset
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Operations Management, or related field
Several years of experience in field operations, agricultural production, or seed production
Proven experience managing teams and complex field operations
Strong planning, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a field‑based environment
Fluency in Romanian & English
