We are seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant for our busy PT offices in Wesley Chapel/Zephyrhills.   NO WEEKENDS!

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist. PTAs implement selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment), obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort. PTAs will assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.

  • Maintains Physical Therapy Rooms and Equipment
    • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments; ensures all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, sterilized and charged.
    • Prepares Physical therapy and treatment rooms, ensuring each is cleaned and sanitized between patients and restocked.
    • Notifies the Clinical Supervisor/Team Lead or Office Manager when clinical and office supplies need replenishing.

  Additional Responsibilities:

 Provides general information on departmental policies and procedures.

  • Attends required Provider/Dept. meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Attends &Participates in weekly case conferences and Physical Therapy Care Team.
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinical Team Leader/Supervisor, Office Manager, Physicians or Associate Director of Physician Offices
  • Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.

 

Physical and Mental Demands:

 Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously at above average level

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with high level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, occasionally required to lift and carry items up to 100 pounds.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledgeable in use of proper body mechanics, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. 

 Occupational Exposure:

  • High risk exposure to blood borne pathogens and chemical hazards.

Job Qualifications:

 High School Diploma of GED Equivalent

  • State of Florida license as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  • At least one year of experience in a Physical Therapy
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Strong team player
  • Advanced computer proficiency
