Job Description – Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE Developer (7-8 Years Experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) Developer with 7-8 years of handson experience designing, customizing, and extending Dynamics 365 CE/CRM solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical depth in CE architecture, C# plugin development, Custom Workflows, Business Process Flows, JavaScript customizations, TypeScript, Dataverse schema design, integrations, custom reports, Azure pipelines, Data Migration along with good knowledge & exposure on building Canvas Apps and Power Automate flows.
Key Responsibilities
Dynamics 365 CE Customization & Development
Design, configure, and extend Dynamics 365 CE modules including:
Sales
Customer Service
Case Management
Marketing (as applicable)
Customize CE using:
C# Plugins
Custom Workflow Activities
JavaScript / TypeScript
Web Resources (HTML, JS, CSS)
Business Rules & Business Process Flows
Implement custom actions, synchronous/asynchronous logic, and advanced form customizations.
Dataverse / CRM Schema Design
Model and maintain Dataverse entities, fields, relationships, option sets, and hierarchies.
Establish security roles, fieldlevel security, teams, and access control strategies.
Optimize schema for performance, usability, and maintainability.
Integrations & API Development
Develop integrations between Dynamics CE and external systems using:
REST / SOAP APIs
C# custom services
JSON/XML data exchange
Webhooks
Work on middleware integrations (Azure Functions, service endpoints, or thirdparty platforms).
Build robust errorhandling, logging, and retry mechanisms.
Solution Management & ALM
Manage CE solutions, patches, and deployment pipelines.
Work with Azure DevOps (or similar) for:
Version control
Build & release pipelines
Work item management
Follow best practices in solution layering and environment management.
Testing & Documentation
Conduct unit testing for plugins, workflows, and custom components.
Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment notes.
Participate in peer code reviews and design evaluations.
Collaboration & Leadership
Support project leads and architects in solution design sessions.
Work closely with business analysts and SMEs to understand requirements.
Mentor junior developers and uphold code quality standards.
Required Skills & Experience
6–8 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE / CRM development.
Strong expertise in:
C# plugin development
JavaScript/TypeScript client side scripting
Custom Workflow Activities
Web Resources
Dataverse schema design
CE configuration and customization
Strong understanding of CE security models, BPFs, forms, and data models.
Experience integrating CE with external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, hosting APIs in Azure - APIM).
Solid experience with Azure DevOps ALM, branching, and deployment practices.
Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or related Azure services.
Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience in building custom reports (SSRS, PowerBI).
Good exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with PCF controls.
Microsoft certifications such as PL400, MB230, or MB210.
Soft Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Ability to independently drive features end-to-end.
Collaborative approach to working with cross functional teams.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience.
