Job Summary: 

Analysts work with senior staff to prepare transfer pricing reports and/or conduct business valuations for tax reporting purposes.  Under the direction of senior staff, analysts assist in preparing essential components of transfer pricing and valuation analyses.  Analysts are expected to be well-versed in economics and finance with a basic understanding of accounting and a willingness to learn both independently and from senior staff.

  • Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.

Value:

  • Create and work with financial models in Excel
  • Perform basic transfer pricing and valuation analysis using appropriate methods and techniques
  • Perform benchmarking, analysis of financial statements, and economic analysis of companies, markets, and industries
  • Draft and assist in preparation of memos and reports
  • Research and review economic literature, perform general research on a variety of topics
  • Research and review country-specific tax and transfer pricing regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business (or any Bachelor’s degree plus highly relevant experience)
  • Strong academic credentials (minimum 2.8 GPA)
  • Relevant work experience preferred (e.g., up to 2 years in a finance/accounting/consulting role, internships, summer positions, school jobs).

Skills:

  • Very strong in quantitative disciplines like math, economics, accounting, or finance
  • Familiar with any of the following: financial statement analysis, transfer pricing methods, or commonly accepted valuation techniques—for businesses, assets, and securities.
  • Able to distill complex data and concepts into key components and communicate them clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Able to prioritize and shift focus among multiple projects
  • Great attention to detail
  • High degree of comfort with Excel
  • Able to take feedback and not make the same mistake twice
  • Knowledge of Capital IQ, ktMINE, and RoyaltyStat databases, preferred
  • Experience with econometric/statistical analysis methods and tools (Stata, etc.), preferred
  • Experience with technical writing, preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license required. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor working environment
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and interface with external vendors as necessary
  • Independent travel requirement: up to 25%.

For Washington DC based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $66,500 - $87,725.

The Firm makes offers based on many factors, including qualifications and experience. Roles may be eligible for incentive compensation.
