Introduction to Santander & Global Transaction Banking (“GTB”)
Santander CIB (SCIB) has a strong footprint in Europe and deep client relationship in each of London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lisbon, Warsaw, Paris and Milan branches. As of 2020, SCIB established a new branch in Amsterdam. Under the leadership of Niels Ackerman, SCIB aims to build a consistent, profitable and sustainable client business in the Netherlands across its key businesses.
GTB is at the core of Santander ; it contributes approx. 1/3 of global revenues and is seen as a key value add and differentiator to build long lasting client relationship. In Europe, Santander is a leader in Trade & Working Capital. It regularly tops the deal rankings and award tables, wins the largest and most complex of mandates in Supply Chain Finance, has a wider variety of working capital solutions from Receivables solutions to Buy Now Pay Later to Inventory finance that few other banks can offer and is always innovating and investing in technological solutions as evidenced by its unique invisible banking solution with SAP.
The Netherlands and Belgium represent a key market for SCIB and for Trade & Working Capital where Santander is looking to further expand. It has a strong base already with a local team, relationship and track record. However there is significant further opportunity that requires further people to join the team.
Vice President - Trade & Working Capital Solutions for Corporate clients in The Netherlands & Belgium
For these growing ambitions, SCIB is looking to hire a strong “best in class” trade finance banker that can drive both the strategic and a trade & working capital finance dialogue with their target clients. The job requires an entrepreneurial mindset, a proven network of clients and a proven track record of trade & working capital finance origination. Equally important are a strong teamwork attitude and a deep understanding of key risk parameters and how to build and drive profitable client relationships. As trade finance professional you will be directly supported by a team of professionals in Madrid. The ambition for SCIB in the Netherlands & Belgium is to become one of the leading foreign banking providers of strategic and treasury products and services to a focused client perimeter.
