Job Description :

Your Job: Formulates plans, organizes resources, directs personnel and develops policies in the Pathology Laboratory as directed by the Medical Director. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week line responsibility of the department and sections of the laboratory to ensure implementation of the medical/clinical programs. Your Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate natural science courses   Licenses and/or Certifications Required: Registered or Registry eligible MT(ASCP) or equivalent   Your Job Responsibilities:     Incorporates age specific, patient care considerations when performing their job duties as outlines in this job description Prepared department budgets. Managed department resources to comply with the budget. Monitors and addresses variances within the budget Plans and recommends short range and long range goals with the Medical Director and Associate Executive Director for the efficient operation of the Pathology Department Coordinates and directs with the Medical Director regulatory compliance of the Pathology Department with external regulatory and accrediting agencies Coaches and develops the skills and talents of department employees with emphasis on the Pathology Supervisory Team. Directs the hiring, training and discharge of the department staff Measurement p Observation and feedback Ensures with the Medical Director and acceptable quality level for all testing results in Pathology Measurement  - Proficiency Testing Results Prepares with the Medical Director’s approval, policies and procedures pertaining to the operation of the Pathology Department. Reviews and updates all Laboratory Policy and Procedure Manuals. Promotes efforts to continually improve the value of departmental activities as well as those of the entire organization through the support and participation in Value Management efforts, both intra and interdepartmentally. Provides opportunities for continuing educations. Maintains system to document continuing education of staff
