The position of Production Team Leader I is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located at Scarborough, Maine.  In this role you will provide guidance to the team in order to produce quality products, seek continuous improvement, and achieve established goals and targets for safety, quality, and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees and coordinates the work of employees in a specific production area
  • Promotes a positive team environment focused on success of the production team goals.
  • Trains new employees and current employees being cross trained within a specific production area.
  • Enhances productivity by finding inefficiency and recommending solutions
  • Works as a team player seeking the advice of and lending advice to other team players
  • Works closely with the Production manager and Supervisor to ensure all production objectives are met or exceeded
  • Improves production process as part of a team (safety, scrap, productivity and downtime).
  • Provides objective input for performance evaluations of the team members in a specific area

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May directly supervises employees in the Production Department (work cells/teams). Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities could include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing input on appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience utilizing GMP practices/techniques.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post High School certificate from a college or technical school in manufacturing or related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of operational excellence/lean principles and applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical device manufacturing.  

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
  • Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and building strategic relationships with coworkers.

The base pay for this position is

$19.60 – $39.20/hour

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
