IRT Account Manager

Remote or Hybrid office dependant on location

Full Time role, paying a salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience, plus either car allowance or a company car.

Mears has made excellent progress in meeting the carbon reduction and sustainability agenda as a business. Mears supports our network of social housing clients with the full end to end process of domestic retrofit from stock modelling, scheme definition, design, securing available external funding to delivery and outcome measurement. Mears is currently working on client and public funded schemes to retrofit over 3000 homes and has aspirations to be the lead in social housing domestic retrofit by 2025.

We are looking for an IRT Account Manager with Strong NEW business development skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and be at the forefront of building Mears Group capability to meet the needs of our clients and the business now and in the future. You will be able to provide support to our wide network of clients across the UK and Mears Group as an organisation. 

The purpose of this role is to position IRT as a leader in the sector, promoting capability, ambition and the positive impact our products and services have on our client’s journey to NetZero.

The successful IRT Account Manager must have elevated NEW Business Development skills, be a strong salesperson, be able to communicate effectively and build strong relationships.

Role Criteria

The role requires the IRT Account Manager to work across the UK, supporting the Business Development & Improvement Manager in all sales and marketing activities for the development of our Thermal Imaging services and DREam Software.

Your role will be to initiate, cultivate, and maintain excellent relationships amongst new clients, colleagues and new contacts and to work closely with the wider IRT team to enable successful project delivery, key account management and performance improvement in order to maintain a position as market leaders.

  • Identifying opportunities for new client acquisitions
  • Grow and maintain the business delivery targets
  • Conduct market and competitor research.
  • Create compelling content for internal & external audiences
  • Clearly present and articulate to a wide variety of audiences
  • Gather critical feedback from clients to ensure we diversify and continuously improving
  • Implement a customer communications strategy for existing and new customers
  • Support IRT and contribute to wider new business development strategy.
  • Build & Manage relationships with clients.

  • Net Zero across Scope 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2030
  • Net Zero across Scope 3 GHG emissions by 2045

Role Criteria:

To be successful in this role you must hold the below:

  • Extensive experience working within New Business Development.
  • Proven track record managing customer/client contacts.
  • Relevant experience working within energy efficiency, housing, building surveying or building decarbonisation.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Strong communicator at all levels – attentive listener.
