About our Team
 

The A&G Solutions and Corporate Pricing Team owns pricing strategy, policy, and price lists for all Corporate Markets products as well as Research Solutions sold into Academic & Government Markets. We drive revenue growth through multidimensional price segmentation, demand-driven pricing of innovations, and by minimizing or eliminating price erosion.
 

About the Role
 

As a Pricing Manager, A&G Solutions you manage pricing, revenue, and quantitative decision support for solutions sold to Academic Leaders, Funders, Researchers, and Librarians organizations. This includes Scopus, SciVal, Engineering Village, Data Monitor, Pure, Interfolio, digital Commons, ResearchFish, Knovel, Reaxys and Embase. You will be supported by two experienced Pricing Analysts who will report directly to the role.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Leading the development and maintenance of price models and price lists.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with critical stakeholders, in particular P&L owners in the business units supported by the role.
  • Remaining alert to the causes of price erosion and proactively identifying and addressing discount and yield-related issues as they arise.
  • Directing two Pricing Analysts; exercising leadership and coaching staff. Helping to maintain an excellent working atmosphere and team morale.
  • Leading the Deal Desk operation by assigning responsibilities among the team, ensuring internal customer satisfaction, and reviewing complex deals.
  • Enhancing processes, governance, and tooling.


Requirements
 

  • Demonstrate solid experience in a highly quantitative function, focusing on sales, revenues, and commercial success, within complex organizations.
  • Showcase excellent analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of supporting tools, including top-level Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Tableau or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Exhibit good supervisory and coaching skills, with the capability to matrix-manage where necessary.
  • Support senior stakeholders with minimal supervision, rapidly developing credibility and relatability.
  • Apply keen commercial acumen and awareness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Finance.
  • Understand pricing principles, revenue growth drivers, and commercial considerations.
  • Embrace a willingness to learn about products and business models in the Elsevier A&G Solutions portfolio.
