General Manager - Livramedom

Position Overview:

The General Manager – Livramedom is a senior operational and commercial leadership role accountable for the execution of functional strategy and the operational and commercial direction of Livramedom within France. Reporting directly to the Senior Managing Director – Home Services Group (HSG) Europe, this position ensures the effective delivery of organisational objectives at the country level while aligning with broader European and global strategies.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Operational and Commercial Leadership: Own the short- to mid-term (up to 3 years) execution of functional strategy for Livramedom. Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and oversee their implementation to achieve departmental goals.
  • Performance Oversight: Manage a department comprising multiple teams led by Managers and Team Leaders. Drive operational and commercial excellence, monitor performance metrics, and implement improvements to ensure consistent results.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Address challenges that are often complex and require thorough investigation and analysis. Apply sound judgment and innovative approaches to resolve issues and maintain business continuity.
  • Influence and Communication: Effectively influence stakeholders to adopt best practices and operational and commercial approaches. Communicate clearly and persuasively with executive leadership to secure alignment and support for key initiatives.

This role requires a service oriented, results-driven leader with strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage complexity, and the capability to inspire teams while maintaining alignment with the strategic direction set by Convatec, the Global Business Unit and HSG Europe. The role requires strong collaboration, communication and alignment with the local Business Units (BUs) in France, combining products and services to deliver excellent solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership
  • Execute short- to mid-term strategy (up to 3 years) for Livramedom in alignment with HSG Europe objectives and strategy
  • Translate global and regional priorities into actionable plans for the French market.

  • Departmental Oversight
  • Development and management of processes across Livramedom’s functional teams: distribution, customer care, billing, field sales, marketing, accounting, compliance, and regulatory, balancing local requirements and alignment with HSG Europe.
  • People management could be straight-line, or dotted-line reporting, with strong collaboration and communication across the HSG Europe infrastructure.
  • Ensure efficient operations. Develop, refine and achieve departmental KPIs, aligned with HSG Europe.

  • Performance Management
  • Monitor financial, commercial and operational performance, implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Accountable for driving productivity and service levels into Livramedom while achieving enhanced commercial and operational performance.
  • Management of the organisation’s P&L, including variance analysis and development of corrective action plans.

  • Matrix Collaboration
  • Strong partnership, collaboration, and communication with Continence, Ostomy, and Wound Care Business Units in France, to deliver integrated solutions embracing products and services.
  • Work closely and collaborate with CBS for HR, Finance, and IT support.
  • Collaborate with global teams and Centers of Excellence to leverage best practices.

  • People Leadership
  • Lead and develop an organisation of more than 50 employees.
  • Promote Convatec values and team principles to build a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Support talent development and succession planning within Livramedom.

  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and regulatory authorities in France.
  • Organise and plan national business meetings, industry events, and other key commercial activities to promote brand visibility and business growth.
  • Execute commercial plans with strong alignment with the commercial Business Units (Continence, Ostomy, and Wound Care).

  • Compliance and Risk
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, local regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks within the French market.

  • Resource Management
  • Develop a strong understanding and ownership of the organisation’s P&L.
  • Optimise resource allocation and manage departmental budgets effectively.
  • Ensure cost efficiency while maintaining service quality.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing multi-functional service-oriented teams within a corporation.
  • Strong operational, commercial, people, service and financial management skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex problems and deliver practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including engaging with executive leadership.
  • Familiarity with matrix organisations and collaboration across global teams.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Management, Health/Medical Sciences, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., Business/Management, Health Economics/Policy, Operations).
  • Professional development in operations/continuous improvement preferred (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma)


 

This position is primarily office-based, with a minimum requirement of four days per week in the office. Our office is based in Gemenos.
